Music Magazine Double Page Spread 2
The main image is of the pop artist florence and the machine. As you can see from the main image the artist has red hair, and the seat that she is sitting on has red strips going down it. The image is placed on one side of the page whilst the text is on the other. This makes it easier for the audience to locate the text.
The main text that the magazine wants the reader to focus on is the "got to love". The audience can see that it is ment to stand out from the other texts as it is a different colour and font.
The page uses doesnt use typical conventions that most double page spreads use. For the image there is not a achorage text near the image. However the text is split into columbs making it easier for the reader to read. The colour scheme to the page is very professional. The white text makes the page seem crisp and fresh. This is a very attractive trait to have as the audience will want to read it if it looks professional.

Music Magazine Contents Page 3
Unlike many other music magazine contents pages kerrang uses many images to give the reader plenty to look at. The audience defiantly is not bored looking at this page. This magazine does well not to look cluttered, and it still manages to look very neat and very presentable and exiting to the reader.
The images used on the page are all relevant to different topics and articles within the magazine. This is good for the reader as they may recognise and artist or a person on one of the images then easily can track to the page in the article. The articles are split into different headings making it easier to search for a particular topic. This is very beneficial to the audience as it saves them a job of trawling through the magazine to find what they want.
This contents page seem very fresh and new to the reader. This is due to the background being the colour white. There isn't a need to use big fonts or bold text on this page as the images are more interesting to the reader.
The importance of each image is reflected by their size. The music magazine will have the more important image bigger than all the rest to give it the main focal point to the reader.
The contents page is symmetrical to the front cover which shows a more mature theme to the magazine.

Music Magazine Contents Page 2
The contents page gives a mature theme to the reader, however this is beyond boring. There is a obvious use of bold and stand out colours. The use of red and black really catches the audiences eye.
The topics are split into sections, this makes it easier for the reader to navigate themselves around the contents page. Also the audience is given a little snippet of each article within the magazine ,which, after reading will leave the reader wanting more.
The main image stands out from the background which makes it very attractive for the audience to look at. I like the use of the white image that stands out from the black background. Also the image is very large. Making it the central focal point of the page. Which on opening up to the contents page gives maximum impact.
The contents page is symmetrical to the front cover which makes it recognisable to the audience, which makes it easier for them to adjust to the page. The general layout of the page is very presentable to the audience. I has a nice organisation, very formal and mature.
The information is split into sub headings. This makes it more easier for the audience to navigate themselves around the contents page, and to search for a particular topic.

Music Magazine Contents Page 1
Q magazine contents page is spilt into different sections. This makes it more presentable to the audience also makes it easier for the audience to navigate around the contents page. And makes it more effcient as they can quickly find what they want.
The majority of the contents page is taken up by the main image. The is an attrictive trait to have to make itself more appealing to its audience.
For each of the articles within the magazine the contents page gives a brief description of what the article is about. This is very benificial to the audience as they can see what the article is about and what page number it is on making it very efficient.

The general layout of the contents page is far from chaotic, by it only using one large image it will instantly grasp the readers attention. There is also a small image placed neatly below.
The background looks crisp and fresh, this is because of the background being white. This works well as the large image generates enough colour, so that the background doesn’t have to. It allows the colours not to clash. This attracts the audience as it presents itself as professional.
The contents page uses the same house style as the front cover, this makes it easier for the reader to recognise it and creates fluency for the magazine.

Music Magazine Front Cover Research 3
The magazine front cover presents itself as loud, quite chaotic and it does this delibriatly as the genre of the magazine is rock, and it attracts its self to its audience which would be teenages. It appeals to its audience as the cover is not tidy or neat, just like its genre. However the cover still remains organised as it is split into specific sections, which makes it efficient to its audience.
The mast head of the magazine is still recognisable to its audience even though it is partially covered. The iconic "smashed" look to the title "KERRANG!" and the black and white font makes it easier for the audience to familiarise themselves with the magazine. It is also very clever as the audience still knows what the magazine even though the title is not very visual.
The main image is large and it allows itself to be the focal attention of the audience, and it entices the reader. The fact that it partially covers the title shows its importance. Also as it is central and covers nearly the whole page again it states its importance and its significance of the magazine. In the image the icons are wearing very "rock" related clothing and further attracting itself to its audience.
The sub heading relates to the main image. "Blink 182. Blast back!" uses white text on a contrasting red back ground to stand its self out from the other texts and to instanly catch the audiences eye to make them pick up and buy the magazine. The larger text "Blink 182" instanly allows the audience to know what the main feature is about without using to much detail.
Another audience attracting factor that this magazine front cover posseses is the posters. These are advertised on the bottom of the page. This is in a red box an looks again very chaotic. This is a very clever pursuading factor and makes the audience buy the magazine. This lets the magazine stand out from its rivals.
The magazine also advertises the other topics within the magazine this will entice the audience into reading this magazine. These are spread out in a "chaotic" fashion to entice the audience into reading on.
Like most magazines Kerrang contains typical conventions that most do. This includes a bar code at the bottom of the page telling the audience the price of the magazine and the date on which it was released.

Music Magazine Front Cover Research 2
The consistency of this magazine is the main reason why it attracts its audience. It has maintained its recognisable colour scheme of red, black and white. By using this the magazine allows the audience to familiarise themselves with the logo of the magazine and from this attracts them more. The house style of the magazine looks very neat and crisp, presenting itself as a formal quite sophisticated magazine and attracting the audience. The effective use of the colours to this magazine are second to none. Each colour allows another colour to stand out from one another and giving itself a real eye-catching presentation which works well in attracting the reader.
Or though partially covered the title of the magazine is not in anyway not obvious to see by the reader and is not undermined. The familiar colour of red and the recognisable font is clear for the audience to read and familiarise themselves with the cover and therefore doesn't matter if it is covered. The colours seem symmetrical throughout the cover which appears very professional to the audience.
The image is large and covers the majority of the front cover, this shows how important the image is and how it needs to be more noticeable and gives the audience more information on what's inside the actual magazine. The implication of the image is further emphasised by it's position on the cover. This allows the cover to flow accordingly and brings out the neat presentations contained in the cover. The main image is not in any contrast with the rest of the front cover, this is a good way to attract the audience.
This magazine front cover contains the familiar conventions that most magazines have. This includes a mast head at the top of the page and the anchorage image, these are both key conventions of magazine covers. Also the barcode is included on the bottom of the cover to show the price of the magazine and the date it was released.
Even though the main attention is placed on the new band "The Last Shadow Puppets" the front cover is good at enticing the audience to the other information about the other stuff that is in the magazine around the image and advertising the magazine to attract the audeince.
The other sub text down the left hand side of the cover does well in not revealing too much about the other topics in the magazine therefore encorageing the audience to read the inside. It uses fine details of the magazines contents on what the topic is about attracting the reader.
The text used in the cover is appropriate in making the cover look professional, especially in the text that is illistrating the main image. To make the image seem important the cover uses bold text to attract the audience. As well the artists are well know so the audience should recognise them and be pursuaded to buy the magazine. Also the colour of the text will attract the audience.

Music Magazine Front Cover Research 1
The first music magazine I researched was Q magazine. As you can see Q has maintained its constant and recognisable house style. The familiar colour scheme of red, white and black, this allows the audience to recognise the magazine and its logo which will attract them more to it.
The colour scheme is very sharp, it is a very stand out front cover, this particular front cover has blue on which is a good way to attract themselves as this particular Q magazine will stand out from the rest. This is a good way to attract the audience as it gives the regular reader a change to the system. Also the magazine has a neat and tidy presentation used within the cover, creating a more mature, sophisticated tone. The use of red, black and white as the common colour theme and also the added blue allows the presentation of the magazine to appear tidy and fresh. This also allows the other colours within the page to stand out, as they are also important parts of the magazine.
Also this front cover has a sort of chilling theme to it, an almost sinister look to it, it does this by having dark images, such as the panthers and of the very attractive young lady without any top on "naughty" which is directly looking at the reader which is appealing to the reader as it attracts them to the magazine. Another good point with this image is that it is placed in the centre of the magazine so that full visual attention is given by the reader. Also the blackness of the image stands out from the background.
The big bold stand out text "LILY ALLEN" will automatically grasp the audiences attention as that is a name of a very recognisable to the audience as she is a famous singer. Also above the name it has a little text that says "sexy beast" and the sub text below says "& her WICKED, WICKED ways..." this is a good play on word which will leave the reader hooked.
The magazine also still uses typical media conventions that most magazines have. This include the bar code which is used to show the reader the price and the date it was released.
